And given that it has bids, it seems that others are falling for it too.

It clearly states "miniature remake" is several spots, including sellers notes. I don't know what an original looks like as I have no interest in plastic radios. I would assume a "remake" would be reasonably identical to the original.

I would not pay $5 for it, but to each their own.

yes---intentionally misleading. Many people will be hooked just based on the title.

The title is VERY misleading:
Quote:
VINTAGE OLD CATALIN BAKELITE ART DECO FADA MINI ANTIQUE CLOCK RADIO BLUE COLOR

Notice that the following in that title is not true. The item is not:

VINTAGE OLD CATALIN BAKELITE, ANTIQUE

It is not old, made of catalin, bakelite nor antique. It is a straight up reproduction clock radio made out of plastic. That is it.
I get a feeling the seller knows precisely what they're doing here. It definitely rubs me the wrong way.

This seller has been discussed so many times for similar offenses.
I guess not everyone here has his number yet?

He's always fodder here for a roasting, lol. Yes, his title is definitely misleading, but notice in his text,

Quote:
THE RADIO IS MADE OF SWIRLED MARBLED BLUE PLASTIC

So that's his wiggle room. He knows how to game things.

Well ..... the title is a bit of a fishing trip, but anyone who reads past the title should be under NO misapprehensions about what is on offer. And to add to that, anyone who looks at the photos and does even the tiniest bit of due diligence will know right away that this is a miniature copy of something old ... NOT the vintage piece itself.

It's not a fabulous ad, but we've seen waaaayyyyyy worse. I won't give it a fail. There's got to be at least a little bit of buyer responsibility. They can't all have their hands held and their noses wiped from cradle to grave. :)

Oh boy could I ever make a comment, but I don't want to get the thread locked...

All bidders except one have 1000+ feedbacks. If they can can't figure out what it is, then they deserve to get screwed.

I think they all know exactly what they are bidding on. It's a cute novelty item to display next to their real Catalin radios.

There is no excuse for blind stupidity. I don't see it as misleading its just his MO. He does this with many of his radio. I like the fact that he pretends he doesn't know anything about radios or their value.

I had a few of these, listed them for what they are, and they all sold for more than the $20 I paid.

People love these

Yes, the truth is there--this seller is smart enough to protect himself. "Misleading"---as I understand it---means saying or doing something that facilitates your audience coming to the wrong conclusion. People that do this are not nice people.....

Yeah, final bidder has 100% bidding with him. It's getting a little shilly in here!

Think about it.

Any bidder who has bid in only one auction in the last 30 days will have a 100% rating with the seller in the ebay 30-day stats.

Bidding looks suspicious on this sellers items at times. I wouldn't touch this one for $50.00.

Ah, I didn't know about the 30 day stats. Thanks for the info!
