Wow, a pristine, never used find like that. In some ways it is kind of a shame. If someone wants to turn it on it should have some of the capacitors replaced, but then it will no longer be in its pristine original condition. On the other hand it would be kind of a shame to remain as never being used. Kind of a dilemma.

I fretted over one in a similar situation.. I bought a Regency AR-136 Flight monitoradio, Still in the box.. Had never been opened..

I would run it. Replace any caps that needed it. Might even consider the route of restuffing caps just to keep it looking the same. And take care of it. Remember you could keep it looking perfect without much effort. The ones you see for sale that are beat up and dirty are because the owners did not place a great deal of value on the condition of their gear. Kept in a proper clean climate controlled environment, and proper use and care, I would not expect it to look worse for wear in 10 or 20 years.

I am absolutely no restuffer.

in that case though, I would restuff and use this set.
