why in the world did I ever build an extensive DTV antenna system in my attic with over 500 dollars of extensive antennae and equipment ?

why oh why did I not see this wonderful device back in 2007 ?

it even comes with 13 feet of wire, sticks to my window, and most importantly, it is "fashion designed" so the wife won't mind it being in the window.

it also has a 900 mile range !!!!! can you believe it ??...and I thought my antenna system was doing well only receiving Youngstown, Steubenville, Altoona, Johnstown, and Pittsburgh which are only up to 100 miles away.

heck, i could be watching the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs on a regular basis with this new antenna !

if conditions are right, perhaps i could even watch the LA Dodgers once in a while if tropospheric ducting conditions are right !!!!

https://www.ebay.com/itm/4K-1080P-Free- ... 5909!US!-1

where was this antenna all my life ?

:P

in the garbage can where it belongs  .

that POS would be lucky to receive WPSU up the street and Altoona 35 miles down the road.

what a load...

Here's F/B from one of his antenna customers;

He also sells a 300 mile model, same price. Someone should tell this clown that VHF/UHF signals are only line of sight receivable.

You guys, don't understand. Let me teach you a few things:
1- This device produces a quantum bubble in the direction where you want to attract the waves.
2- When you multiply the plank constant by the inverse of the square root of the distance you get??? you guess it!! the distance transmitter as if it was local.

Before you start accusing the fine seller of BS first learn your physics!!

Don't get your hopes up too high. It works UP TO 900 miles. Nice ad-speak.

dan3460,
Actually I think it works on the principle of folded space-time, where things that appear to be far away are in actuality right next door in the continuum. No wonder the power adapter isn't included. What a ripoff!

it works in parallel dimensions which change the laws of quantum physics as we know them.

if we can learn how to fold time and space, this antenna will work quite well.

I would say something more mundane, like the Chinese used translation software that confuses meters with miles. My folks use one of those RCA flat antennas like that indoors for local reception on a secondary set and I would say it is pretty weak even for locals. Rabbit ears would work just as well, as long as they are "digital" I suppose.

He also has one rated at 980 miles for $2 less! Such a deal!

Well, technically doesn't say it receives signals from 5000 miles away. Her could have put "Red roses" or "Horse", or he could have put 7896 miles, or 4735 miles.

while it is possible under just the right condition to receive television signals from the claimed distances it is highly unlikely.
i have gotten 1000+ mile tropospheric ducting on tv several times.
a tv dxer wont buy that garbage anyway.
its a $5 flea market item around here.
and then you have to duck tape it to a window to get it to stay.

No way anyone is getting a TV signal from 5,000 miles away, no matter what the atmospheric condition is at the time. OK, maybe not impossible, but highly unlikely, even as a one-time event.

I too had gotten a double hop tropo skip one evening on channel 3 of about 1400 miles, but these are anomalies. When the weather was right, around the month of June, I could pick up channels 6, 8, & 10 from San Diego, and occasionally a very snowy 12 from Tijuana, B.C., a distance of a good 140 miles, but again, totally dependent on the weather, and usually for only a month or so.

Back in the 40s and 50s hams heard audio from low band TV broadcasts from overseas, it is how they knew that the 6 meter band sporadic E propagation was popping. Not video but of course the signals were vastly more powerful than ham transmitters and they did manage the feat once and again. The TV audio they were getting was usually below 6 meters range. I don't know how crummy the "invisible" FM antenna is, built into my car. There is no whip. But this summer I got a Canadian FM station from New Brunswick when there was propagation while I was driving in this part of Ohio, for a little while. Still the range numbers for those antennas are arbitrary made up garbage that would only fool the lowest gullible nitwit. That could never happen on ebay.

i regularly had channel 2 from dallas on E skip (not tropo) in june when i lived in central va.

we lived out in the middle of nowhere on 207, caroline county, right between fredericksburg and richmond.

i used a tower and a big house sized beast of an antenna on top of the tower to pull in DC, richmond, hampton/norfolk, winchester, and NC stations.

when tropo was going, i could get philadelphia, baltimore, and a rare chance at NYC.

It's 900 miles "INDOR."

It works up to 900 miles "away from the station." In fact, it works a bazillion miles away from the station. My microwave oven works 3000 miles away from a station in California.

The best part is, it does not falling down, and the HD channels are better than the Sky HD.
