The whole "repurpose" steampunk thing seems to be really popular nowadays among affluent millenials. Take a really cool old radio, take the guts out and then use a dremel and a jigsaw to turn it into a wet bar for parties. Millenials don't smoke but make up for it by binge drinking, so a lot of "upcycling" seems to revolve around vodka.

Anybody remember Harry Poster? He was a guy who would take old 1940s TV's where the guts were hopelessly dead but the cabinets were salvageable and then wedge a modern transistor/IC TV set into the cabinet. This was in the early 90s when everybody wanted a working old radio but didn't want the hassle of 1930s vintage electronics and not being able to hear FM. It was the era of those hideous "Thomas" radios from China that nobody wants today. Poster's TV's were relatively presentable and he made a good living at it for a while. So why not put an internet radio receiver in a 1920s cabinet? The butchering would be kept to a minimum and rich millenials would get an actual working updated piece of electronics that still looked good.

I tried to get it, and schedule a Saturday morning pick-up, but they sold it . All they cared about was "the first person to get here with the money". I hope someone else here got it.
