This is getting silly. You pull off the lid and then throw in plywood?
Then you sell the lid separately from the radio? Of course the knobs are separate too.

Grrrrrr

As Bugs Bunny would say, "what a maroon."

Wow, you're right. Over $100 more for the remaining parts. Rusty chassis, no tubes.... Sheesh!

These parting out guys are getting ridiculous. It's like selling toothpicks, one at a time! The prices for their parts are usually super crazy too.....

What a numbskull, though at least it's all BIN. If you desperately want it you can plunk down your $$$ all at once.

If you look at the "complete" radio the top portion is still there. It's just the top layer that's missing. The separate top is from a different unit. Both radio and separate top each have the Zenith part number stamped on the back.

Still Craig, its part of the cabinet. The guy is a yo-yo.

My only point is that I don't believe the separate top is part of the cabinet shown in the pics. The radio has its top although the surface (veneer?) is missing. The separate top could be used to repair the existing top or used for full replacement. The loose top wasn't removed from this radio but one would think that the owner would include it to aid in the cabinet's restoration rather than sell it separately.

Thats BC plywood. That would never have been used and then veneered over it. They use base wood like pine for the veneer attachment.
I could be wrong but I have never seen ply used under veneer.

WHY CANT SOMEONE FIND A DAMN LID FOR MY AK447

Yes, that's taking "parting-out" auctions to a ridiculous level.
