I’m gonna guess the seller meant to price them at $55.00.

For me even $55 is high for old dead batteries.
I get nervous when I spend $55 to buy an entire radio.
But then I’m a cheapskate 8)

I paid $55 for a battery, but it had a power supply in it.

They sure look like rebadged Ray-O-Vac's to me. It's a miracle they havent disintegrated. Maybe they dried up.

The Partridge Family On-Set Playback Box (incomplete)
for actors to practice lip-synching prior to shooting.
One Million Dollars. They've had this up over 5 years.

And whoever did their LP transfers pinched all the tracks so now
you can get the full fidelity restored versions anyplace anymore.

I made on offer of $10 for them. Before I submitted my offer, this little message popped up.

Quote:
Increase your offer
The seller will be more likely to respond if your offer is around $4,125.00

Doesn't sound to promising.

Geezzz.... I have one of those batteries. It was in an old VTVM I picked up. I think maybe a GR but I don't recall, nor if I kept the battery, although I probably did. I was absolutely amazed that it had not leaked after all these years.

I concur... RayOVac probably, although maybe a knockoff from Hong Kong lol.

At $660 I guess I should find mine <sigh>. And recharged it, and sell it for $1,200 fully charged and tested. Free Shipping!

i actually bought a dead battery some months back for my Philco Safari, to gut and use the case. Upon checkout eBay noticed I was buying an electronic item and offered me extra-cost warranty protection (or whatever they call it). I was really tempted to take them up on it.

"Soooo, I bought a dead battery..."

"And it isn't dead."

"Yeah, whatcha gonna do about that?"

This is all reminding me of a dream I had the other night.

I was going through a box of junk left in my garage by a friend who passed away.
In the box I found a portable miniature tube battery/AC powered radio which was in poor condition.
I noticed it still had a set of batteries inside. Well, I turn the thing on and it comes to life!
Very poor reception but its actually picking up stations!

I'm struggling to get my smart phone out of my pocket to record this miracle!
My keys get in the way so I throw them to the ground and finally get my phone out.
Of course, by then it stops working. I wiggle the on/of switch and it comes back!
Then it gets recorded, but I must have woken up by then.

Crazy dreams... I wonder if Shango066 on YouTube had an influence?
