Auction for 12S267 ends tonight. I was hoping it would go cheap and I could get it since it is within driving distance for me...but it doesn't look like it will. At $585 as I'm writing this. Looks like it is nice original condition though.

Are there a lot of collectors in the area? I'm surprised it's at that price already! Not sure if its original finish but it goes look nice!

I think you’re out of luck. Don’t know anything about the hibid site, but on eBay it’d bring $1500-$2K easy. I sold mine a few years ago for $2900 and the market for consoles is better now, I think.

Poorly refinished cabinet, the tone is all off with to much contrast. The grill cloth has been replaces with some kind of a mesh. One knob isn't original and who know how well the chassis has been restored if restored at all. I would pass it up for $500 even if it were for sale next door to me. If I were to buy it, it would be for flipping only and not to keep. There's still enough of them out there that If I really wanted a 12S267. I'd hold out for one in a more original and nice condition, whether it works or not (preferably non working and unrestored) and pay the extra buck for it, but then that's just me.

It is definitely refinished.
All the white/gum wood is not properly toned.

That grill cloth has got to go... Also needs a knob.

I see a 6T5, but what condition is it in?

EDIT: I see Mike responded as I was typing.

I think the biggest thing is high end radios don't come up that often around here. This is why I'd guess it was going so high. If you want one out here you have to take what you can get.

Did anyone see what it ended up at? I can't see the results.

Thanks,
Noah

I purchased one like that on eBay a few years ago. It was refinished, fully restored (playing) with an audio jack for my little MP3 player with lots of old time radio shows. The mid-west seller even delivered it, but it wasn't cheap.

That one has it's original finish and grill cloth. The finish has lightened a little but a good application of Old English should revitalize it back to it's original tones. I can't see how that set would go for anything less then $1000 but shipping will certainly play a factor in it's final price. That would make a really nice 12S267 once it's been thoroughly gone over and restored.

The price of the Zenith 12-S-267 I purchased was in excess of that!
