I wanted to share this article from Radio News magazine April 1948.

Someone gave me the article pages which were cut out of a magazine many years ago. It is a project I have wanted to build, or at least something similar.
It uses Acorn tubes in the front-end (or tuner whichever you want to call it) on a separate chassis box.

I really wish they would have given better detail as to the layout and wiring of that "Tuner" as it is rather critical.
I've found many of these projects can have little to no detailed info and rely on the knowledge and skills of the builder to figure it out.

I did not have the last two pages, so I went to American Radio History website to scavenge the last two "bits".
Sadly one part was cutoff showing the discriminator characteristic. If someone has this magazine and can scan that part, it would be nice.
However, its not that critical as I think most of us here who have an interest in building this receiver understands what the discriminator curve looks like

Anyhow, here is the article. I hope someone here enjoys it :D

An article is mentioned in the schematic parts list of building IF transformers.
I went to American Radio History to extract that information.

Also, I made a larger scan of the schematic.

Those Acorn sockets look like ones I've not seen before. At least what I can see of them.

Again, more detail of construction would be nice!
