Hi guys, I'm struggling to find the differences between the various Berkshires. My cabinet reads 288-H for the model.

See left vs. right. The obvious two horns and extra woofer on the right. Can anyone explain which model is which/and from which year?

But importantly, how would one expect performance to vary between the two arrangements? My experience with massive phono/radio consoles is of course limited. Thanks!

Your right/hand photo looks like the 1956 model with AMP-162 (Sams Set-377 Folder-11)
The word on the street is that... AMP-150-AA (Sams Set-345 Folder-6) is the same!
service manual, thanks to Bill J. viewtopic.php?p=1984963#p1984963

and Tuner/Phono pre-amp CR-730 (Sams Set-350 Folder-9) viewtopic.php?p=2259680#p2259680

all three published in 1957
Greg.

The one I have uses the speaker configuration on the right.

Thank you so much for that data. Saved to device. And yes, the literature clears things up a bit for me.

General question. The vintage audio equipment theory is new to me, but I have been interested for some time.

In personal opinion, how may the Berkshire rank performance-wise amount other Maggies of this era? I'm looking at the catalog shared now and comparing the various features between different cabinet models.

Certainly it's not that Mid century screamer of a cabinet, but I'm intrigued and I think I won't be disappointed.

Once I have the console in my possession tomorrow I'll be able to examine my specific model/serial etc.
