Just finished restoring this Heathkit HA2 14 watt amplfier (on the left) to working condition. Only thing wrong was the electrolytic had gone bad (surprise surprise) all other caps and resistors were fine (love those AB resistors). I tried to re-stuff the electrolytic can but messed up and could only get three inside, the forth capacitor is mounted under the chassis.
The cut where I resealed the electrolytic at the bottom is gross looking, but it works. Also had to mount the pheneloc insulator on the chassis top instead of underneath.
Tested with a signal generator and it meets spec published in the HK manual across the freq band. I wish it had a power indicator, probably will add a bright blue LED, just not sure where without drilling a hole in the front, otherwise no indication of power on except the low glow of tubes..
So now with my Heath AM (BC-1A)and some shelf speakers it goes up over my bench for listning. Next is the Heat FM receiver (FM-3A), then the Heathkit preamp (WA-P2).

I like the Authenticap twistlock caps. This one would work except the 40 uF needs to be 50 uF for the cathode bias resister bypass. Your separate cap would work fine there. This may look more pleasing than the cut/repair you made.
