I believe it is 400 K ohms. If you look further down the list, 'megohm' is written out in full.

Yep, it's a 400K ohm pot. Zenith and a few other manufacturers used a different numbering system before switching to the more current one of K-ohms and Meg-ohms. Basically, meg is megohms and M is K-ohms. It can definitely be confusing sometimes.

That method of indicating resistance was very common before WW2. When you see a value indicated as "M" look further in the parts list to determine whether they spell out "Megohm".

"M" is the Roman numeral for 1,000.
