These are from ARF before the server crash many years ago. Maybe 2006?? There are 600 members on the list.

Dave

Hi Dave:
I see... guess I missed something.

Your post didn't indicate that.

Was there a request about old members list? ... i didn't see that.

Some were wondering about the 1969 start date for a lot of us. We ended up with that after a crash. List reflects actual start dates. I thought the list interesting.

Yes very.
Is there another accurate list of when ppl joined after that too?

I can't remember when I got on board... maybe around 2005

The list goes to Nov 2006 and you are not on it, so your start date is later than that.

Thanks.
Right ! ... Come to think of it... that's because I got back into my bench electronics hobby doing old radios around 2005, but was mostly active at that time over at NostalgiaAir's forum.
So it was quite some time ... maybe a year or more ...before I came here full time.

I hate to say this, but the list isn't accurate. #19 (Me) was the first member.

That list looks like an indexed (parsed) one based on the total number of posts to that point in time, not the actual date the poster joined.

While casually checking the members list I think you would of been a member before April 20, 2006 because anyone before that including yourself seems to have the join date of Wed Dec 31, 1969 8:00

I can't verify if anyone has a recorded join date earlier in 2006 than April 20...so it isn't written in stone

memberlist.php?g=18339&mode=group&start=4700

..The dates of members if you go back to page 1 on that list I posted seem to be random since Alan Voorhees is actually the first member and not listed as such and maybe because the actual join date is not there to base it on.

memberlist.php?g=18339&mode=group

Btw if the list is correct the oldest active ARF members with an actual join date recorded after the 1969 server time would be first Bill Cahill, next... ricklin6 ....and third Ted all of which joined in April 2006.

Regards

Ken

To better clarify the member start date:

Posted by Alan Voorhees on 28 Sep 2010 23:20

"The server that this site runs on uses a Linux operating system. Linux is a variant of the UNIX OS and uses the same way of telling time, which is it counts the number of seconds from Jan. 1, 1970 to determine the current date and time. The join times for the earliest members got lost during a transfer of the forum to a different server several years ago, and anyone that has a blank field in the database for the time gets that date. Because there is a time offset function that can be set in each profile to change the clock to a specific time zone, some join dates start before the UNIX time clock startsm and show as Dec. 31, 1969[/b]."

1970 and 1969 start dates are predicated on the above.

BR,

Terry

Thanks Dave

I knew it was sometime in 2001 but really didn't know the actual date.

I had to rearrange the list by post count, descending order, to find myself (#3, easy to find that way with my big mouth  )
