I have seen this perspective warping on a number of videos in the last year or so. Is this a known phenomenon of a certain camera brand or feature? Its quite noticable in the first minute of this video on a DX-60 mod. The video is high quality except for the warping and wavering.

I'll bet you a chicken fried steak that this video used YouTube's anti-shake smoothing tool. I used that tool a lot on my real estate house walk throughs because it made my handheld camera look like it was on a steady cam. The warping in my videos wasn't nearly as noticeable as in this video because I was constantly moving. In this video, it looks like the camera was hand held such that he really needed to use the smoothing feature. For it to warp that much he must not have had too steady a hand. Instead of zooming the camera lens, he moved the camera toward the radio. A tripod would be better, but then, that's hard to move the camera. So many tradeoffs, too little time...

Here is a video where I used the anti-shake and all the other options. From a helmet mounted camera on my mountain bike, it wasn't nearly as "smooth" as this video shows.

Probably as noted, anti shake software doing the best it can. A camera on a tripod is always a better option. :)

I hate shaky videos ... the Blair Witch Project made it fashionable for the camera operator to "create motion" and it's been abused since then. I've walked out of movies where the director decided it was "art" ... most notably in fight scenes where they jerk the freakin camera around so much you can't even see the fight.

They call it "edgy" ... I call it idiotic.

But I digress......
another possibility for the jittery video could be some odd result of resolution reduction software as well. Tough to tell.

Annoying music or what!! and the video appearing to go in and out of focus is terrible.
