Over here in western PA, it has rained about 7 out of 10 days for the past month.

Thanks for asking. Been a lot of fun (NOT!) the last few days.

The Friday night storm from your radar image had lots of lightning and wind. But the next round Saturday morning had much more impact. Knocked my power out for 52 hours, took a bunch of shingles off the roof, damaged 5 of 7 screens on the north side windows, and sent my sliding patio door screen flying away. And the yard cleanup of downed limbs and branches was the worst I've seen in my 23 years in this house. Now I'm going to have to deal with State Farm Insurance and contractors.

I was lucky though, the four (or 5) tornadoes that hit within 30 miles of here (Appleton, Wisconsin) didn't hit me directly. Just the straight line winds from the Derecho.

Summer in Appleton:

And to those posting in this thread about the high heat indices, this is what I survived in the 1990's:

Quote:
What appears to be the hottest "feels like" day in modern times in the United States is Appleton, Wisconsin when it hit 101 on July 13, 1995 with a dew point -- at 90 degrees. That made it "feel like"... 148 degrees. But the relative humidity? 71 percent. And that's the most extreme case. It looks like dew points at or above 87 degrees have only been recorded a handful of times in American history

...

P.S. Those people who suffered through that 148 "feels like" degree day in Appleton do have a bit of ground to stand on. Earlier that morning, it was 89 degrees with 94 percent humidity -- thanks to a dew point of 87 and likely one of the only times it's actually been 90 degrees with 90 percent humidity in recorded American weather records.

whelp, we must have had our summer as it was in the 90s last week  .

the past two days had spotty showers and we are back to it being 64 degrees.

there are no showers in most of the whole east coast and midwest--except for central pennsylvania.

and they called for 20% chance of showers.

i've seen 10% chance of rain bring showers to this weather "hole" of west-central pa.

pathetic

An interesting start to October, got 4" rain in 2 days this past weekend. As of now, 10pm, its 80° outside, high of 88°. There is talk of an above average month with summer like conditions for most of the country...

Hmmm, our temp was 36º today for a high with drizzling rain. Chances are good here 2019 will be the wettest year on record, covering around 140 years give or take. Very green still, but not what I'd call a nice summer and not looking forward to what looks like a snowy winter, if this moisture keeps piling on. At least we didn't see the 4-5 FEET of snow Montana just enjoyed.

Don't care for too hot either. OK, I admit. I'm a Goldilocks!

78° here today, warm and sunny, blue skies. Was great being outside, doing some tree trimming. Tomorrow a bit warmer, around 84°. Maybe I'll get on the tractor and mow the lawns.

97 in Atlanta today - hottest summer I can remember here... Looking forward to the lower 80’s and mid 70’s coming in a few days. New favorite seasons: winter and spring! :D

The chart identifies temperature anomaly, the difference in temperature from the average at each location, not the actual temperature. One cannot assess where it is warm or cold from this chart, only if it is warmer or colder than normal.

If one can find their location on the map, they can get an idea of the increase/decrease in temps from their average for this time of year.

Supposed to be over 80 degrees here by Friday. I can't a year in the 20 years I've lived here where it was that warm in the middle of November. Oh, and its not rained yet either.

Same here in Fresno. The lack of rain is making people nervous.

36 is cold. Add a drizzle and it's REAL COLD.
My refrigerator is warmer than that by a couple of degrees.

When I got up this morning, I checked the 12Z Hi-res NAM model and it showed a significant lake enhanced snow event for NW Indiana. Checked my forecast, nutten much mentioned. Took a nap cuz I ain't feeling well, woke up to a text alert for a Winter Storm Warning  ! 18Z model verifying the earlier model must have prompted the alert. Calling for 5-9", I never remember a snowfall anything close to that in early November...
