It is always sad to hear of the loss of a great mind, and a fine soul. Leigh helped me understand a couple of tough-to-crack electronics nuts.

May his passage to the next realm be particularly peaceful and agreeable.

We are all diminished with the passing of such a wonderful contributor to the hobby.

Leigh, you are missed.

It's very humbling to think of the great minds who have thought us worthy of sharing bits of their knowledge and expertise.

He was a smart man. I always enjoyed watching his posts and the debates that often ensued.

RIP Leigh!

Nice looking young man in that photo. He looks kind of like McMurdo Silver.

I am very sorry to hear of Leigh's passing. I believe we last shared helping someone clear back in April and I see his last post was just under a month ago. I very much respected what he had to say and will seriously miss him and his contributions here.

or maybe Thomas Pynchon. Sorry to hear the news that he's gone, no matter who he resembled.

Does anyone know what will happen to that site?

I have no idea what will happen to Leigh's web site. Most of it contains scanned copies of Atwater Kent Rider's pages and scanned pages of most of the Atwater Kent service manuals. I already have all the Atwater Kent service manuals and Atwater Kent Rider's pages.
Leigh spent quite a bit of time making excellent modern drawings of the earliest Atwater Kent parts and radios up through the models 55 and 60.
The diagrams were done very well and were much easier to read than the Atwater Kent service manuals and the Rider's pages.
These modern drawing were my main concern so I made sure I have copies of all of them.
Hopefully someone will be able to continue the atwaterkent.info site in its current format. I would hate to see it just disappear.

Leigh's website http://atwaterkent.info/
has been saved 179 times between November 18, 2003 and October 6, 2019
in the Internet Archive.

Archived pages can be accessed here...

Attachments/PDFs are not archived by the Wayback Machine.

Again folks, if you have historical documentation hosted on the web, also submit it to the Internet Archive (a separate effort from the Wayback Machine, which saves only pages and supporting images), where it will survive us all.

I am currently mirroring Leigh's website using WebHTTrack. It creates a replica of the site on your computer. I encourage others to do the same. There are both Windows and Linux versions of the program.

His domain is registered to 2023, but his hosting may be month-to month....

All the pdf's can be downloaded at the archived link above.
If by chance, you encounter a corrupt file, select a different date from the calendar.

I'm not sure what's proper in this situation, but I was thinking of adding a section to my website honoring Leigh and adding all his PDF files to it so they are available to anyone who wants them. Good or bad idea?
