Edit - Mercury is not out if retrograde until November 20th.

I messed this entire post up, on top of buying a junk radio.

Need more proof?

it is not retrograde.

seriously though, mercury does transit the sun this week, so that is the reason :) .

we all have this to look forward to this week:

Yes, I did see about Mercury crossing the sun, last time for the next 2 decades or so!
I don't believe in it either, but unfortunately, it believes in me - all communication related things have been a mess all month!

get out zeppelin's Koda LP and play bonzo with the volume on #10.

that will clear the air, your mind, and even possibly your luck.

...Maybe that's why I can't text my neighbor but my neighbor can text me? I can however call her. No I'm not kidding, I confirmed it tonight. Also confirmed she's not mad at me...

Mercury can not be in inferior conjunction with the Sun except when it is retrograde.

Not sure exactly what that means, but it doesn't sound good!

Looked it uo, now I get it!
Thanks, I learned something!

"As seen from a planet that is superior, if an inferior planet is on the opposite side of the Sun, it is in superior conjunction with the Sun. An inferior conjunction occurs when the two planets lie in a line on the same side of the Sun. In an inferior conjunction, the superior planet is "in opposition" to the Sun as seen from the inferior planet.*

just a side note:

venus is coming out of the glare of the sun.

how will we survive y'all might ask ? well, here ya go ; according to this, Zenith Royal just might want to go over and "chat up" his neighbor :P .

https://astromatrix.org/Forecasts/Venus ... ember-2019

i saw venus after sunset about 2 degrees above the horizon still in the bright twilight.

jupiter was to the upper left.

it was a very nice display against the very clear twilight lit deep blue sky and pale horizon.

We are going to get hit with polar vortex here over next couple days.
Hopefully once the sky clears, I will be able to enjoy the view!

Thanks!

Early Thanksgiving evening will provide a nice procession of objects (see picture - obviously not to scale). From the bottom up: Jupiter, Venus, very young (skinny) crescent Moon, Saturn, and Pluto. Uranus is also well placed after the procession ends.

Oh, o.k., I think I see what you mean.
The picture with a caption is called a "meme", it is meant as a joke ti show how communications get scrambled during a Mercury retrograde, and most certainly is not directed at you personally.
Apologies for the misunderstanding!

I was all ready for the Mercury Transit today and hoping to see and get some photos of it but I'm totally blocked by cloud cover. :(

Guess I'll just have to wait for the Eclipse in 2024. :D

Initially it was cloudy here but now is just a slight haze. As I write this Mercury is about halfway across the sun seen through my telescope. (8 inch Meade S-C)

Unusual thing about this is we have a celestial event and it's not clouded over!
