I think of my father often, but today I spend most of the day thinking about him. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served in Korea. Fittingly, he died on Veterans Day in 1992. He died too young, but he is still very much alive in my memory.

In the 60’s it was “Happy Veterans Day to all the boys serving and have served. Not much was said about the ladies that served and were in harms way sometimes. Some in WWII never came home.
At the VFW we have a few who are genuine members because they served in a combat zone. We are brother and sister vets.
And to my nephew. Semper Fi.

Close, but no cigar. It's the thought that counts.

Doh!! December 7th, September 11th, November 11th...

Yeah, never mind! I'd like to say I forgot my medication, but I don't take any.

At least there are plenty of unused dates on the calendar to make new Holidays....
