Has anyone found or used a buying or delivery service for an online item for sale? There are times when I'd like to buy something on Craigslist, FB marketplace or a business, but it's out of state. I found one service called "roadie", but it only handles delivery after the purchase. There is an item that I'd like to buy from a Delaware store, but they don't sell out of state due to the sales tax issue.

Thanks,
Matt

Perhaps a UPS or Fedex store might handle pickup/packing/shipping for you. You might try calling a local one within the vicinity of the item you want to buy. I'll bet a Lyft or Uber driver might handle the transportation to the shipping store as well.

They won't let you pay the sales tax?

No, because it's in Delaware and they don't handle out of state sales.

Delaware has a "gross receipts tax " and no sales tax.
Recently e-commerce across state lines requires collection of sales tax in the state in which recipient lives and
I guess the seller does not wish to mess with that.

Just out of curiosity - - is this a large item? It must be unique if it's only available in DE. (Heck, I wasn't aware that Delaware even had stores yet . . . ) If you pay by credit card and tell the store you'll have so-and-so pick it up, I can't see a problem - - most c/cards have fraud protection in case something does goes awry. . . .

It's an obsolete microwave that fits into a built-in kit. It has odd dimensions, so there aren't many replacement choices. I actually had a spare one that I installed recently, so I was prepared! It's amazing how often things that I buy become unavailable soon afterwards. We redid the kitchen in '12 and the microwave went obsolete a couple of years later. Of course, Sharp came out with a new "replacement" which does not fit into the kit, therefore it's not really a replacement. I'll give the two suggestions here a try.Thank you.

Have you tried repairing it? They're not too complex, and there are tons of aftermarket parts available. There are many sites that can give you assistance; many members here have experience with these contraptions.
