Starting multiple topics on the same subject is frowned on here, mostly so that a person can more easily find a conversation they were interested in without having to sort through multiple threads. It is becoming a trend to post complaints and observations about various packages and pieces of mail making their way from point A to point B.

There are a couple of threads already running with this theme, and you may continue to post to those, however, from this point on, discussions of mail delays and routing of your package through St Louis instead of Nashville, and things like that should be posted here.

New topics started on these types of subjects will be removed.

ok, lets start with a positive note, I ordered a set of Mufflers from a British motorcycle parts supplier in England, shipped DHL, ordered on Thursday with a projected delivery of the following Thursday. Monday morning I got an email that they were sitting on my front porch. I shipped and received packages USPS throughout the holiday season and January with no delays and no stuck packages, guess I am just lucky

This may become the longest thread ever.

Good idea. I think ARF can use a break from all the personal griping over shipments and shippers.

There is an easy solution, stop buying sets over fleabay, and if you do either ship them by Greyhound, or pick them up somehow.

I think Alan started this thread JUST to explain the new rule change. That's ALL and some of you had to sneak in with your complaint or comment about your experience. That belongs in the running Shipping Complaint Threads that he is leaving open for us.
I like the new rule.

This new topic is for all future "look where the tracking says my package is going" and similar complaints. There are too many popping up and should be in one place.

If I post good things about a delivery service to this thread will I be banned?

Right now, I've got some FedEx and USPS packages stuck in Memphis, where they've been for days. However, given the current winter weather situation, I'm not going to complain. It's a bit different when an act of God is preventing them from doing their job than it is when the job isn't getting done because of a bunch of slackers.

Slackers and ding dongs are right before the winter situation. USPS sending packges to heaven knows where, and arriving 5x the estimated time. Now thats changed.

Danke Schon, Alan for the cable --er--topic management. too much industrial control thinking. :D

I got a Valve cover gasket in a decent time!

Well the PO is evidently still really screwed up, we got a Christmas card 2 weeks ago, Feb 5th, that had been mailed on Dec 20.
The kicker: it was from our cousin who lives in our Zip code only 3 blocks away... crazy!!!

1st of February I ordered a pair of KHL speakers in Ireland, where their europe office is. Shipping notification came the next day, adress was correct. Estimated delivery on Friday, 5th. At the 4th I paid customs, VAT and expenses. Again, delivery was announced for Friday.
Friday no delivery – ok may happen. Monday morning notification, delivery was rescheduled for wednesday. Wednesday again nothing. I then logged in to the tracking tool: The package would be held at Paris airport. At the phone someone said this is normal but couldn’t give further information.
Next Monday I claimed by Email. They had no idea why it is still held, delivery was scheduled for the 17th. Then again nothing. The tracking tool said futile attempt to deliver. I phoned again. Miraculously UPS now had two adresses, a new one they tried in another town and the right one scrambled. The redirection should take another two days only for scheduling. Hence another week and the uncertainity of 700 bucks may finally go down the drain.
I decided to pick it up myself at the service centre today evening. Luckily I got it and am now listening to the speakers. But I wondered how UPS dares to let custmers come to that scruffy site – not really a refenece and while waiting I got some insights as is worked there. But the staff were friendly.

In the good news column, I ordered a handmade item from England and it was in my PO box within 10 days!

I live in MS and we just experienced our once every 25 years ice storm. As a result, I haven't seen a mail truck since Saturday and I can't tell you how depressed I am because I haven't gotten my latest vehicle warranty expiration notice or the $1,500 check from the latest loan shark of the week, who requires that I pay the loan back at an interest rate of 96.4%.

Seriously, I'm starting to get a bit antsy because packages I'm expecting from UPS, FedEx, and USPS are stuck in Memphis, Birmingham, and some place in GA; but, I'm trying not to blow a gasket because I know there are people with far worse problems right now and it's not worth people getting injured or killed while delivering packages. Some might say that we should have been prepared; but, we don't have this type of weather often (like I said, about once every 25 years) and preparing for something that rarely happens is an expense that the powers that be likely would never go for. So, it is what it is and I guess my packages will show up one day.
