Which Free software to convert webP image to jpeg?

Is Convertio an OK site to use? Don't want a bunch of malware and spybots with my free stuff.

What OS?

This claims that if you are using Winblows 10 that you can do it right in M$ Paint.

Gimp should also have no problem doing it.

I'd use IrfanView

I'll also suggest Irfanview. Opens and saves just about any format.

I get a screen capture then edit it in Paintshop Pro 5.5 that I got free on a disk in the last century.

I do screen captures and paste them MS Paint. After cropping and editing, I save-as whichever file format I want, usually .jpg

I use the Windows "Snip & Sketch" tool which is a selective screen capture program imbedded as an app already in Windows 10. (It was called "Snipping Tool" in previous editions of Windows.) Choice of saving what you select as a .jpg, .png, or .gif. Easy to use and no need for extra software.

I use Irfanview when I want to alter or edit what I have saved from a webpage.

I always right click and save images directly and only do screenshots when sites try to prevent images from being saved. I don't know whether quality is lost when a screenshot is done and saved to a different format, but I wouldn't be surprised and would rather avoid it.

Yes, I often do that if the web-page contains an imbedded image available in higher resolution than the web-page, itself. I rarely do an entire so-called "screen-shot". That's why the "Snip & Sketch" tool is handy for quickly saving an image that I want to post here.

Agree. There is ALWAYS a way around them...

You can also right-click and select "view in new tab". Then save page as it will just be the image file.
Also shows the image in its original size (not shrunk for web page.)

I wouldn't know anything about it. I use Linux. It has a similar tools that do full or partial screenshots and screen recordings, though.

It would be nice to know which operating system the OP uses if it isn't Windows.

Windows 10, Sorry, I lost track of this thread.

Thanks for the great suggestions, IrfanView or Convertio are safe options you say and want to try the Windows options.
I save pics from the Canadian Kijiji site, but just last week, they've changed to webP images.

I've used Paint Shop Pro 7 for editting for a couple of decades but it won't open webP, and this site won't take them either.

Dave, I will now try the snipping tool. Cheers, everybody that posted.

Win10, sorry I'm late to the party.
Tried that.
Normally I right click choose Save Image As and save the pic jpeg or similar directly into a folder.
I have MS Paint as one of my available options usually, but when I right click a webp pic, Paint isn't there on the menu, has left the building.
I went searching for it but gave it up when sent to the app store.

Dave, I don't have the snipping tool, Snip & Sketch, not found so far.

What does work, thank you, Paul, is Copy then open PaintShop, Paste, then Save As, selecting jpeg from the list. We will see if this gets frustrating.
If so, will try one of the suggested softwares.

I search Kijiji for Canadian radios and starting last week, all pics are webp's. PaintShop can't open them but accepts a Paste, thanks, Paul.
The pics always were in webp format but would convert to jpeg or jfif when opened in a picture viewer. They don't convert automatically anymore, could be an update glitch, IDK.

"Snip & Sketch" replaced "Snipping Tool" about 9 months ago during a Windows update.
