I just finished repairing a Peerless Reproducer I received from eBay earlier this week. PayPal lets you use credit card cashback dollars as a payment option now, so this set me back about $20.

Surprisingly good sound when hooked up to my Atwater Kent Model 42.

It came with a back, but I removed it for the second photo.

I have one and if the filter network is removed it sounds pretty much about as good as a decent set of computer speakers.

I at one point thought of finding another and making a pair of computer speakers.

I went on a radio pick yesterday but he had thousands of items. I spent $1000.00 within 20 minutes. I purchased some amazing pieces like a barbers mechanical hand fan. I did get a rebuilt Radiola III with WD-11's, a silent Arvin 444, a Lafayette spring microphone, and a very cool tube tester by Supreme. It will be at K-town if Frank doesn't nab it first...

:)

Today's estate sale finds: Heathkit IT-12 signal tracer, working, for just $15. Sony CRF-5090 9 band T/O clone of sorts, working, needs switches cleaned, just $25. There were other radios there, mostly wildly over-priced.

I successfully waited until the 1/2 off, 3rd day of an estate sale sale and picked up this nice Hallicrafters SX62A with matching R46B speaker and owners manual. Appears that all tubes are OEM Hallicrafters dated late 1961. I'm surprised a ham guy didn't buy it for the speaker. I like the way the dial lights each band separately like RCA 813k/816k consoles.

Finished off today's buys with an AK33 w/tubes and matching E speaker. The 33 has all of its tags and a detector tube anti-howling (?) cover.

I was left a nice little present from the previous owner of this home….

So I finally started getting around to cleaning out this attic of our new home, so I could start putting my own junk up there we currently don’t have space for atm.

As I’m up there i spot this little gem….

I guess this counts as a September find. :D

Idk anything about hifi receivers like this, so anyone able to give me a ballpark estimate of what the value of this model might be? I know it’s probably not some incredibly rare model, I know I’d never be that lucky. Still it’d be nice to get the opinion of someone who’s more knowledgeable about them. Either way I know kenwood is considered a good brand, so to have one basically for free isn’t a bad deal imo.

I don't see the model listed but I'm guessing it's from the 1970's. With all the features, it seems to be a lot more than a basic model. I think the 1970's Kenwood receivers are considered quite good and well-worth having.

Suppose I should have listed the model no. I forgot my bad. It’s a kr-100, 1969.

From what someone on a Facebook group I’m in just said, this was kenwoods first silicon transistor receiver, before it was all germanium. Just like anything else this old, they tend to need a recap, resistors checked, etc, you know, standard stuff.

I’ll eventually get to it, but I’ve got several sets from the 50s 40s and one from the 30s i need to get to first, on top of my grandfather’s old cb. But hey this will be in a nicer spot on the shelf instead of the attic.
