After some research I found out that the tubes in this radio are actually good subs for the originals. There are 5-30's and a 31 tube and they all test strong.

Good find at Findlay!
I was going to go but went to pursue another radio in hopes of a trade, so I missed it.

I hope it was a good show! :D

I said no more picks but I was asked to come look at a collection today and I bought it.
This gent was an Arvin lover! I bought 9 top to bottom restored Arvin’s. The queen, king, jr., mini, battery set, clock radio, tombstone phantom and some I have to grab on the next load. I also got 1000 caps. I’ll wont run out of capacitors for a long while. This guy was very into Nixie tubes and building Nixie Clocks. I must have 50 nixies and all NOS nixie chips and ?? The pics are what I took today. The rest is yet to come.

Nice haul Kirk!

Ahh, the Sencore Powerite II PR570
We used one in the TV shop. Just dont connect a TV with arcing high voltage to it or you will blow a couple transistors.
It happened a few times.
The older PR57 never did that.

How do you find all this stuff all the time. Much of it looks like treasures. You have warehouse?

I don't have warehouse like Kirk, but I had this GE model 96 given to me . It is the same as an RCA model A32.
It looks like it is one step down from the RCA globetrotter model A33
It will be a winter project, and the cabinet next spring.

I picked up a few things at Radio Daze in the Twin Cities this weekend.

Zenith 6-S-27.
Grebe AC Six.
Edison Home.
Hickok 600A Tube Tester.
AK Type E Speaker.
HP Vector Impedance Meter.

I also picked up a couple 78 albums. Lena Horne and Duke Ellington.

I had a great time. Thanks to all of the folks over at NARC for holding this event.

Best,
Russ

I sat right in front of Russ at the auction. Very nice Grebe console. The next day at the flea market, I was able to buy a very clean CV 591-A Single Sideband Converter that is used for R390-A communication radios. I am friends with the seller, and was able to get all of the info on it from him. I'll start a post when I get to working on it. Finally found one of these!

I'd love to acquire a Nixie tube clock... or build one.
I ran into a guy yesterday who was selling flip clocks. Sounds like he had nexie tube clocks less than a week ago. I just missed the opportunity.

Feel free to DM me if you'd be willing to part with a Nixie clock at a reasonable price.

Hi all,

I do not have a warehouse. I have a cluttered den, shop, and shed. I have many ways but this pick was handed to me by Chas. He wrote to me about a post on the Tube radio forum. The lady was looking for someone on Long Island. Otherwise it is all communication. I have many connections in the radio world. Plus I have had a lot of luck. Join the facebook radio group. I do giveaways somewhat often. Who doesn't like free radios!?

I have none yet. I have the tubes but no actual kits or clocks yet. Next trip will grab those if she prices them right.

Thats a nice cathedral my friend! Glad you won a few things at the auction. The Sencore is very nice but it will go to Kutztown.

Awesome finds! I LOVE phonographs... You know that is a rarer 11 panel eddy horn right?

Thanks for the info. I only tested it but it will go to Kutztown. It is too good for my skill level.

Thanks Richard,

You know what they say, good junk is hard to find! I like the Westinghouse, sorry you didn't get it.

I was wondering why I didn't see you Sunday. Hope your pursuit went well. The meet was a little small seller wise than in the past but one thing that was in full attendance were the yellow jackets.

I went back to the guy I bought clocks from, dug in some of his parts drawers and found a set of six nixie tubes AND a base for them!

I made out like crazy on clocks over the last two days. Here's just a portion of what I was able to acquire.

It sounds like I ended up with some very rare clocks. The guy selling them had no idea what he had. I also got parts for a nixie tube clock and a large neon clock.
