Finally, we have a date and location nailed down ! The Winter Vintage Electronics Expo event will be Saturday, Jan 21 9am-4pm at the Southfield Pavilion. This is a larger facility than we had for 20 years at the old Costick Center in Farmington, MI. Admission just $5. Bargain auction at 3pm, two "Silent Auctions" , one ends at 10:30am one at 11:30am. Vendor tables are just $35 for the first and $20 for each extra. This is the same as we had at the last several winter shows. Also, a few "Booth" spaces are available, 10' X 10', $45 with one table, you can get up to two extra tables per booth at $15 ea. (note this works out to same as renting 3 regular seller tables). Vendors can load-in Friday eve 4pm-8pm or Sat morning 7:30-9am. There is a loading dock to this facility but its a real odd place, other load in locations may be available, we are checking on that. You can see an overhead view of the place here https://www.google.com/maps/@42.4811592 ... !1e3?hl=enNote the loading dock is on the SE corner of the building with two lanes of egress. We will have someone managing the traffic and we'll have many signs out directing vendors. This show drew over 1100 attendance the last two shows we did in 2019 and 2020, both sold out all vendor tables (over 150 tables). This show will be highly publicized thru local broadcast and print media and online. This new venue is larger than our last, we should still have vendor tables left currently, may have them available at the door too. $35 for first one, $20 each extra. EASY access off the I-696 freeway just north of Detroit. Weather has been, and looks like will be, warmer than usual Michigan winters, highs in the upper 30's and lower 40's, no snow or ice so far ! If you are within 5 hour drive, you could do no better than to attend this show. See all info on the event site www.thevee.org

Looks like there will be a few tables available the morning of the show (or load-in on Friday eve 4-8pm). $35 for first table, $20 for each extra. Weather looks great for a Michigan winter, no snow or ice, might be wet... and cloudy, but I'll take it ! Remember, all sellers load in from the south side, there is a loading door and a single door. Look for Vendors Parking and Vendors Load In signs

Would be nice to hear a summary from one of the club officers as to how successful the show was, how many seller tables were sold, how many people paid admission.
I was there for a couple of hours around noon and talked to a number of friends who were there. The parking lot was pretty full and there were plenty of people walking around, but it was difficult to tell whether there was a lot of stuff being sold. There were some empty spots on tables, which would lead one to believe something had been sitting there and had found a new owner. There were also a lot of empty tables, so more sellers could easily be accommodated in the future.
The venue is fine, it's clearly larger than the previous winter shows and I guess the trade off in loading and parking is acceptable to most people. Restrooms are in the basement but there is an elevator, so that's not a real problem.

Hi all.... well if you were there you know by now it was a GREAT show and we are hoping to be back there again next January. Thanks to all who helped make this a successful return to our winter VEE !!! See more pix in the Clubhouse section here under "My Neighbor is a Star" post Rough numbers : The Southfield Pavilion is a 23,000 sf venue, including a large presentation room, we paid about $6600 including tables set up to our specs. We were set up for about 160 tables (including booth spaces) and there were maybe 10 vacant. There were about 45 unique vendors. About 940 came in the door including vendors, most paid $5 admission, about 25 paid $20 "early buyers" fee to get in at 7:30 am Sat morn with vendors. including table/booth fees, about $500 from the Silent Auction and $1000 from the Bargain ("donation") Auction, we think our gross is around $10K. Promotion costs about $3K (radio, TV, print). We should just about break even. Hope to get the attendance back up over 1100 next year as we did in 2019, 2020 (here are videos of the last two: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKwq_kDsqyI&t=2788shttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yz0Lj2RaMM4&t=711s

Any time that a club can put on an event of that size, and break even, seems to me to be a good thing! That proves the venue and attendance numbers ought to at least be sustainable, and a very good point to grow from.
