Looking forward to this one. I know of six collectors from Atlanta area that is heading up to Charlotte. Who else is going?

I'm thinking of attending for the first time. It is about a 7 hour ride each way for me so I want to make sure it would be worthwhile (I would like to purchase 10-20 quality radios from the late 1930s through the 1950s). Would someone be able to give me more information regarding how large/how many vendors are at the flea market? Is the auction material different than what vendors have in the flea market? Any information would be helpful along with any links to photos or videos from the show from the past few years.
Thanks!

Here is a link to some photos of fleamarket area.

You can easily pick up some good stuff. Auction I would say is maybe 50-50 new stuff to stuff not sold in flea market. Sometimes auction has stuff from estates that are not from fleamarket as well but I have not heard about any this year.

Definitely worth the trip if you’re buying. Plenty of vendors in the fleamarket area and usually different stuff in the auction. Going to be nice weather for an outdoor meet. See you there!

Leann and I have been to all of these shows since 1993 !!! It’s our spring vacation from Detroit area. I’ll have a large van load of capacitors, tubes, knobs and misc parts as usual.

Thats why they need to move this whole flea market indoors (the ballroom there has the space !) and make it SATURDAY 9am-4pm only for that ! Then, rebrand the show to "Vintage Electronics Expo" and promote it, and watch your attendance triple in a couple years. Thats what we did in Michigan.... our first full indoor show since Covid drew over 900, and about 300 were newbies I think !
THis Charlotte show has the basis of a GREAT show ! I have been to every one since 1993, I know... its in a town full of young rich folks !!!
They could have all the hard core collectors stuff on Friday ,.
Just need a few younger guys to take the show in a new direction.... not to eliminate anything from the "old radio" folks, but to just start marketing the show. Nobody in Charlotte knows about that show, just old radio collectors.
Here are some pix Leann took about 8 years ago at Charlotte.....

Rain is not supposed to arrive until around midnight Friday night. Flea market will be long over by then….Hopefully it will clear by Saturday morning for those last minute deals.

As to Mark’s comment about a lack of promotion, I am connected only as an attendee. After several weeks seeing the show was not posted here, I posted it. It’s a great show and I would not miss it!!!

I missed the Charlotte Hamfest because I didn’t know about it???

I only live about 30 miles away and this will be my first show ever, so I'm excited.
Hoping they decide to move the flea market inside in case of weather Saturday.
