When I was a kid somewhere around the early 60's I would occasionally hear my parents play records on their massive oversized floor console.
They had a mix of Herb Alpert, The Ventures, The Supremes, can't remember others, but one 45 that came to me sometime later was "Suspicion" As a kid I always thought it was Elvis Presley, I never looked at the label.
Not long ago I came across this very same song but found out it was done by Terry Stafford even though it was written for Elvis, and Terry did very well with it.
I know for a fact the record that my parents played was the Terry Stafford version because of the synthesized background. the Elvis version did not have that.
I think it was a much better version than Elvis, maybe some will disagree.
Oh...Ya, I still enjoy The Ventures, The Supremes, but Herb Alpert, not so much.
