Don Everly of the Everly Brothers has died 8/21. Always liked their music. He was 84.

They are both now gone.
My fourth CD purchase way back when was the Everly Brothers (Cadence Classics).
Saw them only once, at outdoor concert 30th anniversary of Southdale Shopping center.

We're fortunate as the great creators and
performers age and pass, to have their
music and history preserved.

Don and Phil were and stayed a class-act.

Thanks brothers, for all the music and
memories you helped create for us.

Shame! "My youth is disappearing!"

The BBC will probably repeat again their documentary on the Everly Brothers. The last time was just after Phil died. I've saved the recording from its first showing.

We lost a lot of possibly more hits from them due to contract changes.
They moved from Cadence to Warner Brothers for a reputed million dollars. However, they owed Cadence a boatload of recordings, hence the "Songs our Daddy Taught Us," album.
Musically, their move to Warner Brothers wasn't their best idea. They were tied up with Acuff-Rose, who owned the rights to their back catalogue and any more songs they wrote. Worse still, Felice & Boudleaux Bryant who'd written most of their hits were tied up with A-R too!. So they weren't allowed to record anything they wrote themselves, or written by F & B Bryant! But they did have a hit with this by Carol King.
