I have accumulated a few V discs that were sent to troops overseas in WWII, Not for sale or public release, ( remember BMI union Petrillo’s musicians strike) no recordings were made for a number of years.. google it, anyway these were sent with player to guys for morale.. Army and Navy issues for sure..all Unbreakable vinyl except Columbia who refused, and so had most arrive broken…The fun part, is many performances are unique to these releases..some are just repress of standard versions, but may are not..all spinning at 78 rpm.. they are all kinds or music, from pop bands classical to comedy. All 12 inch extended play. Many have brief intros by the artist or DJ Hello Boys…….

At 78 RPM, the tracks must be very close together, no?
So they would have used a good quality player as far as the tone arm and needle goes, and they'd need to be 240 volt for overseas, interesting.
