Looks like all this time, we could have simply slapped postage on 'em and dropped off at UPS... Attachment:

United Parcel Smashers would still have found a way to destroy it......
Apparently the CEO of Molded Products was the brother of the CEO of Admiral according to what I have read in the past in other articles about that cabinet. The press was something like five stories tall and operated at unbelievable amounts of pressure.

Interesting. 1948, and the press was designed for the Russian government... wonder what they made with it? I have one of these Admiral's and always thought they were a more fragile, Bakelite-like product.

They are Bakelite. Back in those days it was common for people to call Bakelite by other names, plastic was one of them.
There's an article in Radio Retailing or a similar trade magazine giving a lot more details about the introduction of this particular TV cabinet. At the time, it was the largest piece of Bakelite ever molded. Someone eventually built an even larger console TV cabinet out of Bakelite.

UPS managed to destroy one that was shipped to me Yes, Admiral later made even larger 12, 14 and 16 inch console versions.
