Stumbled across this on local social media. I know most everyone shuns these combo units, but the 13 channel tuning escutcheon caught my eye. Anyone familiar with this unit or it's TV chassis number?

I think I found a chassis match in Riders TV volume 2. Looks to be a Farnsworth model U-12-A TV chassis, so about the same time frame as the Model 651-P was manufactured. I'd have to assume it's not too common. No mention in Riders of the CRT size or type, but looking at the separate chassis high voltage power supply, apparently something bigger than a 10 inch.

It looks like the designer borrowed a lot of the circuitry (and the tuner) from the RCA 630, although the set does have AGC. Someone should grab it!

504P cabinet and chassis. Two examples are shown in the above thread.

Base model has a 10" screen. Looks like the CRT in this one is bigger and the mask is not the usual. Capehart offered a model 504P-12 and a 504P-16. Might be one of those, or might be a period mod by the owner. Would be an extremely rare catch if the former. A hack if the latter. Not sure if a real -12 or -16 has ever been photographed. ID plate on back of set would tell one way or the other.

Turntable doesn't strike me as legit either. Should look like the above.

I was curious about this but I don't think I dare drag it home. I also don't have a facebook account, so I'm not allowed to communicate with the seller. Link to the ad posted below if anyone want's to try finding more out about it. There's a couple more interesting pictures that I didn't post earlier. It's called a Deluxe and I think there's an original tone arm in a box in the lower cabinet. If anyone finds more info please share it here. Looks to me like the original phonograph drawer is still intact, but the changer has definitely been updated. Overall the cabinet looks to be excellent. Would be a shame if it ends up scraped or gutted.

Base model 10" 504P has the "Deluxe" badge, so not an indicator of an upgraded model. The speaker-door grillecloths also do not appear original (although nicely done and a real improvement). I would guess the tv was professionally upgraded at a 50s appliance store. Or else the owner had real talent. Either way, in 1950, the owner probably spent large to custom it. If documentation existed with receipts, it would be an interesting historical mod and less of a hack. Wisconsin is too far for me, else I'd like it for parts. CRT, if good, would sell for more than his asking price. Rest of it would come in handy...

If that darn lake wasn't in the way we'd have much easier collecting between states.
I'm in WI but at the opposite corner.

There's a Muskegon to Milwaukee ferry but I've never priced it. Imagine booking passage for me and my Ford F150 would cost a bit.

I still have the chassis to the set in the older post if anyone needs parts.
