I was posting on another thread about my fondness for TVs with the word "Television" written on them. It got me thinking, I wonder exactly which television models had this. I know the RCA TT-5, TRK-5, TRK-9, and TRK-12 all did, although the TRK-90 and TRK-120 did not. The GE 901 projection console with radio and phonograph also had Television written on it. I suppose the Baird Televisor gets honorable mention for the word "Televisor" prominently displayed on the front. Does anyone know of any other sets that had television written on them?

I have a 21" metal cabinet 1968 Zenith with "Zenith Color Television" below the tuning knobs, so I guess that counts.

All the pre-war GE's had it in block letters engraved into the tuner escutcheon. The 1938 GE prototype has it engraved in cursive in the escutcheon. Most RCA RR359A/B sets had a decal with the RCA meatball and "Television" in English or Russian.

The '48 Philco 48-1000 and the wooden 7" model. The '48 Andrea's have "Sharp Focus Television" on their large dials. I have a '48 7" Airline porthole portable that has "Television" writing in a sleek script writing under the Airline name. Most companies only did that in the pre-war days. I like when a set has that too. Basically by '49 it was rarely seen.

The 1947 Andrea TVJ sets have "Television" on the dial as do the United States Television projection sets. Of course, "Television" is part of the company name. The Dumont RA-102-B3 Club set has a large "Television" embossed on the control door.

I suppose it would only be fair to mention all of the malaise-era GE "Performance Television"s. :D
