Does anyone have a schematic or info on this model? C2418A How many transistors? It is definitely solid-state although it looks a lot like a very early 60's GE tube radio. Has a nice analog clock. Has the mouse head on the tuning dial. The Wikipedia site shows the same model but claims it is a vacuum tube version. No match on Sams Photofact.

It's solid state.

Most likely employs the same chassis as model C4403A and a whole bunch of others...

Thanks for the info Greg. It is likely similar with the same transistor circuitry but uses a safer power transformer for the radio part. The clock has front-panel controls only. Cute radio and obviously designed to be bit safer for the "GE Youth Electronics" age group for which it was designed. Performs about as well as the typical All American Five of an earlier GE generation. A Wikipedia on the set with the same model number claims it is a tube radio.

The Japanese restorer didn't add any tech info, just his experience with it. (Google translate)

Number of transistors?, or better yet, identification for them. Can guess at 5 like the GE chassis you referenced but that would be a guess since this one could be different. It's working great and has those adult-proof screws on the plastic so I'm not willing to tear into it to check voltage out for the power transformer (mounted in the empty space next to the speaker). If possible would also be nice to get the original price. It's not yet on Rmorg. I am proposing adding it. The more info the better.

Tnx,
Rich

Yes, Please do. And I believe in credit where credit is due.

I can simply credit "rcadanny" on "antiqueradios dot com" unless you have a preference. Many thanks!

So have we determined if the radio is tube or solid state? I would guess by '71 it would be the latter.

The 1972 catalog and price information provided by rcadanny has been uploaded to Rmorg and properly credited to him in the caption.
