Pardon me if this has been referenced before - searches turn up nothing.

I found this 1962 Japanese Manufacturer Guide on the Internet Archive, and it lists the manufacturers with the tradenames they used or produced for:

https://archive.org/details/ElectronicE ... ersJapan62

Field "D" is the listing of all trade names they produced. An example - TORIO made stuff for Realistic, Lafayette, Kenwood, Hamlin, Trio, Morse....and on.

Could be helpful in finding data on older transistor radios of the era. I had a Viscount radio I couldn't find any data on - turns out that "ETERNA TSUSHIN KOGYO" made it....

I don't remember if this was ever posted before either but thanks Brian, good to know.

I often look up the 3 digit Japan codes on the back of the set if there is any.

Greg posted this RM link about a year ago, I'm sure you remember.

Thanks for posting that. Downloaded and saved!! It looks like it could be a very useful reference guide.

I agree with Rocco53, I don't remember that reference being posted here. Thanks!

I too downloaded it. We need to get this information into Radio Museum.

Thanks Brian... :)

(B) equals main business connection. (page-five).

Interesting to note the Fukuyo Sound Co. and Torio Corporation association with Radio Shack.
