Possibly a dumb question but one that has me puzzled. I’ve been looking for a schematic for a Motorola XP40EL (Model number printed in the back of my radio). Can’t seem to find this radio listed anywhere (including Radio Museum). Found one listed on eBay as XP40EL but the model number listed on it was actually XP19D. Checked and found a schematic for XP19D and it looks correct for my XP40EL but states it’s only for XP19D and XP20D. What gives? Any info appreciated!
Thanks
Mike

The XP40E was likely a rebadged XP19D when Motorola introduced their 1967 line of transistor portable radios. Here a link to a copy of their 1967 brochure: https://www.flickriver.com/photos/29533980@N05/sets/72157629221250815/
The schematic diagram for the 6-transistor XP19D and XP20D in Beitman 1967 is useless because it was for an 8-transistor set (probably XP21D).

Not to confuse things even further, a seller on eBay has a Motorola XP40EE currently for sale with a photo of the inner label:

Wow! Thanks for the input guys. Looks like a schematic might be non existent. Odin, thanks for putting me straight on the XP19 schematic. I didn't look close enough to notice the extra 2 transistors.
If anyone knows of a correct schematic, please let me know.

Mike
