Hi guys, new in here,

I just got a nice D7000Y chasis 500MDR70, just deoxit all and working fine, all original transistors, I just measured voltages and points 6 and 7 both are 10v!!, any ideas where should I start? By the way the voltage regulator looks suspicious.

Regards from Bogotá
Gustavo

Voltage regulator would be a good place to start. Regulator is a NPN NTE123AP and the Zener is a NTE5071A 6.8 volt 1watt

Thanks,

I just use the radio on D batteries, it seems it was fixed in the past and they replaced the original AC transformer with something, just ditched and fix the battery compartment.

I have 2 Zenith 3000-1s that I bought some time ago and they both work, with one only needing a transistor replaced. I live close enough to the coast to have a nice view of the Pacific Ocean, although some of the fires in Southern California have produced enough smoke to make the air unhealthy. And to stop things off, at around 11:45 pm on Friday, we had a small earthquake! - Mark

Sorry to hear that, California is a paradise, like the song, but every year this kind of catastrophic situation happens. Hope you are doing ok.
