Does anyone know of a site where I could download a service manual for a Royal 2000? Need to do a alignment on two of these and any help would be appreciated. Regards, Ed

John, I do not understand how to send a PM. I do appreciate the offer and will send my e-mail address as soon as I can figure out how it is done. Ed

Hello John, So far so good, the only obvious problem is that the FM dial setting is way off approximately 1MHZ. I adjusted the FM oscillator coil to set it to the correct frequency. The BC band is extremely close as is two of the SW bands ( WWV 5 & 10 MHZ ). Presently debating doing a complete alignment. Also the audio seems to distort on strong signals at high volume settings but is fine at normal levels. Unfortunately my Elmer of many years passed away yesterday and will be sorely missed for both his loyal friendship and his irreplaceable wealth of knowledge. May he rest in peace. Regards, Ed

Hello Ed,

Just noticed that you mentioned SW bands ?

The Royal 2000 is an AM/FM-only radio---did you perhaps mean Royal 1000 or 3000, a Trans-Oceanic ?

Also have that service info for those which was found on-line if you need it...

Sorry about your friend---am still very fortunate to have a couple of elderly radio/electronic/car friends that I keep in touch with...

John

Hi John, My mistake! I have two sets on the bench at the same time. The other set is a royal 7000-1 and this post is in the wrong place. Sorry for the confusion. Ed
