Found a 2200 that cleaned up very nice, not a mark on it and it sounds just beautiful. I think it's a keeper.

I dont have anything that would come close to the collections on the thread. But I do have this 70s Sanyo close by. I have some older ones buried in storage. I'll see about digging them up.

Is that solid state? It looks more like a 4 tube set.

There was a period during the end of the tube era when Japan built many models of ultra-small, 4-tube battery sets to compete with the American transistor sets. It would be interesting to see the back with the cover off of this set. Dave

Jinkei, Nice pictures, I also like your radio. The patina is cool looking. Seems like if it was a tube set, it would have some ventalation in the back of the case.

Hi, there! Thanks for the comments. I also thought it must be a four-tube radio. Actually,,, just take a look at inside! Who the hell spoiled the radio

Jinkei - Do you think Hilton retro-fitted a transistor chassis into that cabinet or is it homebrew?

Hi Dave, This is a homebrew. At first, I wondered if it's a manufacture-made. But when I tried to tune the station, I knew it's a homebrew. The dial numbers graved on the front increases counter-clockwise, while rotate the dial counter-clockwise, tuning frequency decreases. Oh my God! Jinkei

It's been bastardized; the cutout for a speaker is a dead giveaway, and no manufacturer would have made such a Mickey-Mouse battery arrangement. Surprising that they didn't just incorporate a nine volt rectangular battery, with a snap connector.
Jinkei Ohta, if you can locate a tuner from a parts Transistor set that will tune opposite of what you have, AND has the correct shaft (that's the major trick), you could at least get it to tune correctly. That, or locate a four tube circuit, and use that case for it.

Found a couple of Channel Masters, both Sanyo I believe? I like the looks The bigger one came with the box and still sealed earphone, but has a minor issue with the volume knob, but both sound and look great and have their leather cases.

I picked up this little fella today. It's a Motorola Weatherama, about 6" wide by 5" tall by 2" deep. When I got it home and put 4 AA batteries in it actually worked! The Beacon Band doesn't do much but the Standard Band picks up a few AM stations rather clearly. The base can be rotated to the top and it has a broken slide switch on the lower right corner(slide still works).

Upon closer inspection the antenna appears to be inside the rotating base, and found a date stamp on the circuit board of 1957. Can take 4 mercury or 4 penlight(AA) batteries. Also has a headphone jack on the back. Heres another photo angle.
