Zenith Royal 130. This is the only one I have in this series. I recapped and aligned it,and was glad to see I got the dial very accurate. Not always possible with these. The tuner was rather stiff, using dial linkage. I thought I'd use it for awhile to see if it would get better. Fortunately it did, as I really was afraid to mess with dial linkage. Reception is pretty good. Sometimes the audio has a touch of distortion to it,like a weak audio transistor or something. It's quite usable though. Plays with good volume. Looking for a 180 to add to the collection.

My Channel Master collection.

I'd like to get some more of their radios, as I really like these.

The 6515 Super Fringe is the model to have. Mine pulls in stations like there's no tomorrow, with room filling volume. It's size is about that of a small table set.

Here's a pic I grabbed from RM Org;

Nice Channel Masters. I have a 6512, which is physically identical to your 6514, except it has Shortwave instead of Marine Band. Unfortunately it doesn't work :cry:

I've seen both the 6512 and 6515 for sale. I think the 6512 covers the entire 80/160m bands. Mine supposedly goes down to 1850, I'm going to listen this Fall and Winter to see what I can hear. Maybe some AM activity on either band. I agree they're excellent performers. Thanks for the info.

Why not fix it, Colin? Probably just needs new Electrolytic's.

Richard, I wish it were that simple. Some time ago, I made the mistake of buying a job lot of five radios off eBay. My eyes were bigger than my brain! I didn't look inside the radios when I received them, just stashed them away. When I finally did investigate, I found I had purchased someone else's castoffs. I gave two of the five to a thrift store, and kept two Channel Masters and a Panasonic (why this one I have no idea). The two Channel Masters need way more than just electrolytics, they are more like "John" projects! I will get around to working on them, hopefully in the not too distant future. I really want a 6515.

Found a mate for my Sony STA-110 FM stereo adapter that I described here:

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=347525

This is a TFM-110WB shown with the adapter. The "B" version includes a shortwave band. I'm amazed how stereo enhances the sound of this small, pre-boombox era, mid-60's Sony, especially when spread apart further than shown here.

Nice to see them paired up, and in lovely condition. I have multiplex adapter and have been looking for the TFM-110 to match it but the prices I've seen on eBay are ridiculous............
