I found these two recently for $5 each. Truetone Model DC-3506 and Juliette Model APR-220. Both work (sort of) but need attention. Not sure of the year for the Truetone; does anyone know? Thanks,

Dennis

Per my Bunis Guide, 1964. Nice looking examples, BTW.

这是中国上海无线电二厂生产的红灯754收音机,它具有中波和短波两个波段。
This is a red light 754 radio produced by Shanghai Radio No. 2 Factory in China. It has two bands of medium wave and short wave.

Manufactured in 1960, the Acme "tops all" AR-610 was also branded as "Haltone" and "Toptone".
A unique feature that sets this radio apart is the side dial that is styled like part of an automotive dashboard.
Unfortunately it's plastic can be easily damaged and often exhibits cracks and chips.

I bought this recently and recapped it. Had a couple tracks come off the circuit board, so did some rewiring. Tweaked the IF's,the middle one was quite off. The tuning cap trimmers didn't require much adjustment, and the dial was very accurate. It's quite sensitive across the entire band. I kept the original battery pack since it's working fine. Often they don't make good electrical contact. This is one of two original battery packs I use,the rest I've replaced. Was having fun with it last night trying to identify some dx. It's quickly becoming a daily driver.
It has the strong punchy audio like the 750,but sounds like the 750 has better audio frequency response. Musical instruments sound more responsive on it,highs and lows. The reception is somewhere between a Royal 675 and 750 as you would expect. I was able to listen to a weaker station on 1440 KHZ,with a strong local station on 1430. I'm really happy with it.
