Hi...I've tried to post a request for info regarding the NC-303 RF gain control and AC switch because the one I'm going to try to get working has had the RF Gain control replaced with the wrong control and AC switch.

I understand the correct control is a 10K reverse log pot with the AC switch mounted on the rear of the pot.

Any ideas on finding the correct part or simulating a 10K reverse log pot with a linear pot and resistor...?

I need some help regarding the wiring of the calibrator socket as it has been played with too...

I'll go into more detail, but for now I'm testing whether I can post or not because my AV software doesn't seem to like this site all of a sudden...!

Any thoughts or ideas much appreciated....73...Jordan VE6ZT

As I recall an audio taper is close to a RL taper.

Digikey has a 10K reverse taper pot in stock, but without a switch. You might consider moving the power on/off function to the audio gain control by replacing it with one with a switch. That shouldn't be as hard to find.

I've thought about doing that, but the fact that there are lots of linear pots with an SPST switch makes trying the "simulated" reverse log taper pot pretty appealing.

For the time being, I'm making a list of caps to be replaced...

More to follow....73...Jordan
