Anyone know the correct fix for this on an NC-270?

The top of the indicator is attached to a bracket connected to the dial string.

The bottom has a lip that rides against the flat dial surface.

Bent the indicator out slightly from the bottom, to reduce drag?

A little lube on the bottom lip?

I don't want to experiment without knowledgeable input.

Not familiar with this radio but I will bend the indicator just a bit and wipe on and then wipe off a small amount of light oil in the contact area. Usually works well.

You are welcome. I recently had this issue with a Hallicrafters S53, an S38E and a Heathkit HR10. Also, on older radios with a long scale and dial such as an SX62 or National NC303 I will wipe the track the dial indicator rides on. Sometimes the dial cord is slipping because of the drag on the indicator and this usually solves the issues without a restringing. Restringing some of these radios can be a challenge.

Thanks again!

I certainly don't want to have to restring this beast!
