Hi, need some help

I’m working on a Fairbanks Morse model 72T. The power transformer is burned up. I have a power transformer out of a Fairbanks Morse 9A left over from a previous project. The connection diagram for both radios are the same, but the rectifier tubes are different( 5Y3 in the 72 and 5V4 in the 9A). Is the transformer out of the 9A compatible with the 72T? If yes, what should the high voltage output with the center tap be?

Model 9A uses B+ voltage around 245 volts. The 72T schematic shows 195 volts. Your voltage will be closer than that. 5V4 used in 9A has lower voltage drop. 5Y3 used in 72 will drop more voltage so will be closer. Use the transformer that you have, ... 005762.pdf ... 005749.pdf
