Hi Guy's and gals,
Have a question concerning the RCA 110K and 111K radios.
Both have pushbuttons and an electronic tuning function on the dial, but if I turn it to the electronic tuning function, I get no response when pushing the push buttons.
Am I missing something here or maybe its a malfunction?
Find it hard to believe that both would have the same problem?

You have to set them up before they will work. If the radio didn't come from your immediate area
its presets are probably still set to stations that are too far away to receive in its present location.

The tuning presets are just mini-tuners that are locked into one frequency (but which are adjustable).

The last sheet of the Riders service data for the 110K tells you how to set up the preset selector pushbuttons:
http://www.nostalgiaair.org/pagesbymode ... 014715.pdf.

Procedure might be the same for the 111K but in case it isn't, here's a link to its Riders data:
http://www.nostalgiaair.org/pagesbymode ... 014717.pdf.

If the pushbuttons won't set up, it's possible that the switch register that selects the tuning element is dirty or has oxidized contacts; in which case cleaning is in order.

Thats kind of what I thought.
Just don't want to go to the bother, but if I have a buyer looking at the radio, I want to let them know that it probably works if you know how to set them up.
Thanks for verifying what I already figured.

Oh, yes... the old "just trust me: it probably works" sales line.

It would take you about five minutes (following the Rider instructions) to set up just one
of the pushbuttons... that would allow you to demonstrate that the preset feature nominally works.
