Who is next?

Count me in for the 816K escutcheon for $50 or so. If necessary, I can probably live with the bottom part with a little sanding inside the holes for the pushbuttons.

Count me in for a 816K! I think I can drum up some more business for the other K's.

Stephen,

Count me in for an 816K escutcheon too. Even if that means having to eat peanut butter and jelly for a month!

Who has an 811K / 816K (are they the same?) escutcheon to send me, properly packed (drop from 6' on any corner) as an example? The better the condition, the less cost to make a part.

No they are totally different as in the pic for your reference.
For the Escutcheon for casting purpose, best will be if someone is closer to your city. Lets see if any one offers. Otherwise, Here in Toronto, I will also give it a try if any friend of mine has a good one and is willing to lend it to me for sometime. :D

Stephen,
I will loan you my 811K escutcheon. It has some pieces missing around the eye and is slightly warped. It looks like it's 3 different pieces. Here's a pic (I hope).

Edit: Pic didn't copy, j=here is the Photobucket link.

I've been busy. I had hoped to work on the Emerson parts today, but other business prevented that, so it will be the week after ext before I'm able to do so. After that one, I'll have much more information to be able to discuss pricing.

I am not sure if it is identical to the 816k, but I have an 813k with a pretty good escutcheon I would be willing to loan for the good of the community. PM me if interested.

Thank you very much for your generosity.
Yes, RCA 813K and 816K have same escutcheon. Now lets see what Stephen has to say.
:D

I realize this is an old thread but I could use them for both an 811K and an 816K, is Stephen still around and thinking about these?

To the dreamers, the cost of prototyping the escutcheon as a file is $2300.00. The manufacturing on a 3D printer is about $4,000.00 to produce 50 grills. I decided to take up this venture for Philco grills and for the cost with a friend making the complete computer generated file was $4,263.67. If I sell them for $60.00 each I will still be down $1,000.00. This is why no one will reproduce them.

With the limited need for the 811 grills I don't see it happening unless Steven can do it.

I for one would pay more than 60.00 for them.

Beautiful Dreamer, la la la laaaaaa

I believe I could reproduce the 811K if I had a decent example of one to use.

I have two of them I'll check to see if one of them would be suitable when I have a few minutes, probably in a few days.

I've realized that the Emerson parts are the only ones I will do, if I am able to do them. The cost is the main problem. The swirled plastic is another.

Swirling is actually fairly easy. You can use tinted 325 black and tinted 325 brown and lightly mix them together. Then pour into the mold.
Getting the actual mold is the real problem. Mine has been in production for 9 months and will not be completed till the new year. Then I can start pouring them in swirl pattern.

I'm sure you can do it Steven.
