 Post subject: Gilfillan 1131-C Resto start :stripping:

This is the next candidate for the finish removal.Some of the front areas are solid Walnut so this will
be a new challenge for me as I have been used to working strictly w/ veneers.Should be an easy wash
off with the 50/50 mix of lac thinner and acetone.Will show pics as I progress. Here are the before shots.
There is no saving the original to far gone.Crazed to the max.

Wow, that's nice! I have a gillafin bros. Cabinet that I finished it has the same brass dial and magic eye bezels. I wonder if the dials are the same as well?

Cabinet stripped except the black which is stiff nylon brush time and 50/50 mix.

If you're redoing the black trim black, there isn't any reason to have to remove the color 100%.

Don't you think the areas that are badly chipped and flaked will show thru the new paint,or do
you think it will blend.
