I am an ARF member who has not been active in a long time. I am a restorer of all things, not only radios. I've restored to new condition vintage aircraft, vintage mid-century automobiles, clocks, art nouveau lamps, and a few radios. To present myself I'd like to show an image of a Zenith 9S54 chassis "re-birthed" as an ultimate art deco tableside that I conceived and accomplished:

I am in the process of an "ultimate" restoration of my 3rd Zenith H500 Transoceanic. My first two were amateurish "brush-ups" of which I am not proud. I'm now retired and have the time to do a masterful job on my latest effort. I bought a great candidate (5 years ago) on which to perform this operation. It has a great chassis (absolutely no oxidation) and "did have" a great case and front plastic. Regrettably, a young friend, while in my storage unit dropped the H500 to the ground and caused great cosmetic damage. The case was severely broken and the beautiful front plastic heavily damaged. BLESSING IN DISGUISE! This event has caused me to do a complete teardown of the case (dis-assembling most all of the component wood parts) for an entire re-gluing as well (as of course) of a total re-cover in new Tolex. I have discovered amazing things about the "hidden" workings of a Zenith H500 Transoceanic case! I am looking for help in my project and wish to lean on ARF members for advice. I want to post a "blow-by-blow" photo illustrated archive of my process. Any interest?

Sounds interesting. I have a late model H500 as it had the 50A1 tube.
