You're likely to get better recommendations more suited to your needs, but I've used Empire Plating in NYC. THEY ARE NOT CHEAP. In fact, IIRC, they have a $300 minimum so you'd need to save up a lot of bits and pieces. But they are very, very good. I needed the bed plate of a rather rare Wappler spark gap nickel plated and asked an artist friend who he used. "Empire's the one place that doesn't loose stuff" he said. That's important! The work they did was phenomenal.

Look up Caswell online.
They sell plating supplies, kits, etc.
You can do it yourself as I do.
The process is simple. The work is in the preparation.

I have done some nickel plating with a battery powered electroplating kit from Texas Platers Supply, if they are still in business. I like the results from their silver plate better, though. Then Brownells gunsmith supplies sells chemicals for electroless nickel plating. None of that is cheap but beats a 300$ minimum. I suspect the high cost minimum is maybe due to the setup and prep. I suppose if you could piggyback a few small parts onto someone else's bigger job that you might be able to get it cheaper. IF that is somehow possible.

I've done plating at home and in our lab. It's not that expensive to set up.

I'm not sure how "small" is worth sending out. Here is a place in Chicagoland that has a excellent reputation with the jukebox crowd.
Hope this helps...

Look up chrome plating shops in your area. High quality chrome is triple plated (nickel, copper chrome) starting with nickel so this should be easy for them. They just need to stop after the first step.

I did a search last night for Texas Platers Supply electroplate stuff and could not find them, but I found that Antique Electronics Supply has the chemicals and the special brush for sale. I think you have to copper plate steel or iron before the nickel? Not fully sure on that. But for brass or copper parts they just need prep for the nickel directly. Some of this electroplate probably does not make a thick enough coat to endure alot of wear and tear but should work for appearances on restorations. But you have some learning and practice due with home kits. For anything critical or high value I would go with pros right off. IF replating thumb nuts or terminals or smaller parts, it is not so hard to do.

Thanks for all the input. Given these are small parts I'm going to try the DIY at home first.
