I have a 533 and 600 (not A models)
Only the 3 page foreign tube data for them.
I believe the "A" models have much more listed data for foreign tubes .
I realize the data is not compatible between models, but for merely testing the "eye" tube function, I suppose it would work.
Would someone help me with setup data for this type (EM34/6CD7) if it is listed in the "A" model info?
I can't locate a setup for this tube for a Jackson 648S (supplements,) or old Precision 910 (little wonder why,)- or I'd settle for this.
I had kept a restored Precision 10-12 around to test this type only, since it was the only tester here that listed the setup for that tube type (EM34).
It's gone now, given to someone that had a greater use for it, - (and more room in the shop.)
I'd appreciate info on this.
$15 is a bit much for me to gamble on if I were to buy the "A" model data book, to use on an incompatible tester.- only for one purpose
If this fails (sigh,) I'll begin the task of extrapolating available info and attempt to create a setup for this tube.
If i'm forced to "go this route," I'll post the setup- if I'm lucky enough to create one.
Thanks,
Den

------------------
The set-up for the Hickok 533A:
"6.3 JR-4507-0 English 100 Press P5
Connect a 1 meg resistor from the plate jack to pin 3 of large 7 pin socket. Connect a second 1 meg resistor from plate jack to pin 6 of large 7 pin socket. Set micromhos switch on English position. Eye one closed at bias of about 30. Eye two closed at bias of about 55. Bias=Vary"

For Jackson 648 Series:
"6.3 123 A45 21 XZ
6.3 123 AC58 36 XZ
6.3 123 6 0 WX
Visual Test"
I don't have any experience testing this tube, and hope the data works out. I can't seem to type the Jackson data in so it lines up properly. On the last line the "6" goes under AC58 and the "0" goes with the WX.

------------------

Thanks, Chris!
That info sure seems like it will work.

I'll whip up an adapter w/ banana plug & the two resistors to another large 7 pin base, instead of fiddling with stabbing resistors into sockets.
Other eye tube types must be tested in this manner (resistor) as well, on the Hickoks.
I guess their set up scheme wasn't as flexible as that of the humble Precision. -
Den
------------------
