Hi all,

My name is Ken and a good friend of mine gave me numerous tubes and testing devices to try to sell as a package. These belonged to his father and I really don't have any knowledge of what they are and how they work. There are 3 large devices- A model 450 tester, Sprague Tel-Ohmike Model TO-6, and a Knight KG-2000 D.C. Oscilloscope. I don't have any idea if these have any value to anyone so any knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Also there are numerous boxes of tubes, many new in boxes and again I am just trying to find out where I should go to find the right person if any of this has any value. If there is no value that is fine also but I just need to know. Thanks so much for your time!

The best thing to do is contact a local radio or ham club in your area, some of the tubes could be valuable. Where are you located?

Probably your best bet for a club, unless you are closer to another state.

...and I'm in Montgomery County. I would also be glad to help.

+2 for MAARC. The president is John Begg (jbegg@jbegg.com) and a phenomenally knowledgeable board member is Brian Belanger (radiobelanger@comcast.net). Either should be able to steer you in the right direction.

If you want to get some very rough idea of their value and trends, do an eBay search and look at sold prices. I usually divide that figure by two for sales outside of ebay for a rough idea.

Some more popular items like the Sprague tester May sell for more but usually only if restored and guaranteed working

Most ARRL groups hold multiple hamfests each year and most cost $5 for a buyer and their family to attend. It would be a good idea to attend some before bringing you items to sell to get an idea for the prices that items sell for. To sell all the items that you have, it would be a good idea to sell for a little less than the prices of the other sellers. Over the years, I have seen equipment from estates sold out and estates where nothing was sold depending upon the price,

And also watch out for "flipping droolers*----;)
Seriously, the return on this hoard will be directly proportional to the time put into research, advertising, and getting multiple offers.
