I'm not sure how many have heard of Bill Eccher, but he's been researching, fixing, and creating jigs for the 539 series of Hickok tube testers for a long time. He's decided to release all the documentation on his research and test jigs, and you can go directly to his website for them here. For any that have purchased his trinkets, most if not all the documentation is available for viewing or download at no charge now.

http://www.eccher.com/documentation/

I have linked that site to my own 539B page as well.

Possibly a new take on some of these for those interested in all things Hickok. A lot of the info pertains to other Hickoks, and in some cases, any other tube tester if the experimenter knows what they are doing

enjoy

thanks Barry, good resource. I bet you open pandora's box with this, how many 539 owners will start the "purification" process of their tester now.

Adding this reply separately because I had a chance to read through the documents on that page. When I got to the section regarding the testing with digital/analog meter, I was confused at what he was referring to with the digital meter.

I then found that it was in reference to his $499 kit.

WOW!

Yeah, I'll build my own circuit.

I think those are for people that can NOT build their own :) .. you know, the ones I was referring to in my rant on the other thread?? lol Actually I didn't even look at the for sale items... my interest is in just spreading the technology around for everyone, in cooperation with those who have done design and research. I may at some point do my own writeup, but for the moment it's just an information bank from which individuals can draw their own conclusions
