A friend stopped by today with this old record player, probably from the 50s, I guess. It looks similar to a Garrad 201v that is on ebay, but this one has two Astatic 400 tonearms. This one has a Mic input and FM input also. It is a portable unit with a 10" speaker in the lid with a very long cord. There is no label on the unit and the chassis is pretty dirty, didn't see any ID on it. The motor/drive unit is a monster, looks like cast iron frame. Any ideas?? It is only two speed 78 and 33 1/3.

The amp uses a 5y3, 2 each 6v6 and 2 each 6sn7, and there was another tube under the chassis, but don't remember what it is.

I may do the electronic work on it, to restore the unit. The case is in very bad shape and the owner would do that.

Thank you for any input.

I believe that may be a General Industries transcription turntable with Astatic 400 tonearms.
